Ballerina Monkey

Here's a card I made for my grand-daughter's third birthday. The theme was ballerina monkey, so I improvised a bit and turned Changito into a ballerina (note tutu). I hope he doesn't mind just this once. lol

Spooky Halloween

Since I'm crazy about cats, this new Penny Black "Spooky" clear set was one I had to have even though I'd sworn off adding to my Halloween stamp collection this year. I don't often send Halloween cards, so do I really need another set? What's the point, huh? Well . . . as my friend, Carol, and I like to remind (read enable) each other. . . . When was need ever a factor???! LOL Anyway, this card uses Basic Grey's new Eerie dp. The witch hat is layered with pop dots, the bats are Cuttlebug . . . the cut and emboss combo (Do they still make these . . . very cool!), and that's a Spellbinder tag label sans the ribbon slide parts.

Another Bloomin' Birthday!

Gosh, time just flies! I've been stamping up a storm, but I get lazy when it comes to editing the photos and posting.

This is one of my latest favs. I just adore this set from Papertrey Ink! I finally got out my (have-to-have it now!) Copic Air Brushing Kit and couldn't be happier with the results. The learning curve was not bad at all, and I'll be using it more now that I know what I'm doing. Anyone know if it's safe to leave it assembled with the air control screw locked or is it necessary to dismantle it after each use? It would be nice to leave it out, (just what I need . . . something else on my desk lol) but I can just imagine this window rattling boom in the middle of the night . . .

Hope you like this recent creation. I'd love to hear comments and any ideas you have on the Copic Air Brushing system.

Hey Chick!

Another real quick post. My friend Carol and spent a few days in Cincinnati stimulating the local economy and attending Stampaway on Saturday. I am so inspired and anxious to be stamping, but life is going to get in the way for a few days as I get caught up around the house. I bought some fabulous new things that I can't wait to show you, so stay tuned!

Today's card was made using my new PTI Polka Dot Basics II for the background and a Whipper Snapper image. SU Dusty Durango used for the dots on SU kraft. I used a Sakura sparkle pen to add some bling to the dots and colored the image with Copics.

A "Hoppy" Hello

I'm not usually into cutsie stamps, but will make an exception with this little Imaginesce frog from their "Fairest of Them All" collection. I cut off his crown, added some googlie eyes, paper pieced his body with some Cuttlebugged Stampin' UP! Wild Wasabi card stock, and then popped it up with dimensionals. The embossing folder adds just the perfect touch, imho.

Sunny Wishes

I have a lot of cards in my stash to share, and this one seemed appropriate for today's post since the weather here is just wonderful.

The stamp used on the card is from A Muse, and the smaller image on the envelope is from Stampendous. I punched the sun from some yellow glittered card stock . . . it's hard to see in the photo, and created my waves with a circle punch and some white ink for some white caps. this was a fun, easy card.

Valentine For Randy

I have been busy making valentines and have a couple that I consider "blog worthy". My good friend, Carol, had the idea for this first card and stepped me through its creation. Thanks Carol! The heart is folded to hold the card shut and opens to reveal the sentiment. I used Nestability Hearts (no scallops for my very non-frou, frou guy) and the sentiment is from Penny Black. The dp is some older KI Memories. The heart ribbon is American Crafts and is layered over SU's real red. A heart shaped button and some black waxed floss tied in a bow on the Nestability tag that is stamped with Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages' "Love" completes the card. I hope you like it.

Hi all, and a Very Happy New Year! I've been under the weather with a nasty sinus infection but hopefully over the hump now.

This card uses alcohol inks from Ranger, a Krylon silver leaf pen, glossy card stock and blending solution for the background. It's probably some official "technique", but I don't know the name if so. I was just playing . . . I started with a few dots of silver, then tamped the blues, then softened it with the blending solution using a wiping motion. The finished product was embossed with the snowflake embossing folder. The large snowflake is a cut and emboss die from Cuttlebug, and the sentiment stamp is from A Muse. I had the alcohol inks on my desk so I would remember what colors I used, but in my drug-induced state must have put them away. One color was Stonewashed. I can't remember if I used two colors or three with the silver. I thought it was three until I checked a scrap. The base card (Brocade Blue) and silver cord are both from Stampin' UP! The blingy brad I bought at Target a while back.

Like everyone else, I'm rushing around like crazy trying to get ready for next week. I did finally get some cards made. I first decided not to send any, then decided to send only to out of town friends and family that I won't see this year. Then, re-thought and decided to send a few to the older family members even if I've seen them. They seem to be into the card thing more than others. So, this is what I came up with. My inspiration was from Alli Miles HERE. Alli makes the cutest cards, and her blog is one of my must reads. I used a Hero Arts clear stamp for the "NOEL" and paper pieced the "O" with various scraps. Sorry, I forgot about pictures until the others were signed and sealed. I used Cryogen White card stock, a rectangle Nestability, some SU ribbon and Memento black ink. I touched up some of the paper pieces with glitter pens or a glaze pen. All in all, not too time consuming, and they are in the mail. Cross that off my list.

If I don't get to post again, I want to wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you for the time you spend visiting me here. I do appreciate it.

Masculine Card Debbie Olson CASE

I loved Debbie Olson's masculine card from the other day so much I decided to borrow her design and create a similar card for my brother-in-law's birthday. Using a different Basic Grey dp (6x6 pad) but the same CHF sentiment, it was easy peasy and I know he will like it. I have a hard time omitting ribbon from any card (even a masculine one looks naked without it imho), and the little ribbon loop with a button is just perfect. This is a layout I intend to use again.

Lockhart Holly Cupcake

I bought this Lockhart stamp with my niece's December birthday in mind. I used Basic Grey's Wassail 6x6 paper pad. Don't you just love these scaled down versions of their designer papers? The cupcake is colored with Copics and some Ranger Glossy Accents added to the berries. I did another card with this cupcake, but couldn't get a decent picture of it. I'll try again tomorrow.
