Post #2! Quite a combination of different companies' products, heh? I practiced coloring with Copics on these . . . still a work in progress, but I'm learning. I'd love to attend a Copic certification class someday.

ETA: Holy CATS! The baskets are upside down! Did not notice that in all the time I spent coloring. Oh well, pretend they're not upside down or stand on your head... but then the flowers are wonky =D The people that bought these didn't notice either I guess... or maybe they felt sorry for me lol

Playing Catch Up

Big {{{{HUGS}}}} to those of you still visiting my blog. I've been stamping and making cards like crazy in sunny Florida since mid-November, but have limited internet access with an old, irritatingly slow laptop. In addition, I've been selling quite a few cards to neighbors and at a couple of craft shows where I live. Such fun! So It's Your Birthday

A quick post . . . the weather is turning ugly, so I need to get off here. The last bad storm we had fried my Ethernet card . . .

Old Men and Their Undies Question

The answer is "Depends", and I laughed out loud when I found this stamp from Custer's Last Stamp at The Wicked Stamper in Naples, FL. Art Impressions is the source for the old man stamp (Melvin, I think is his name). I waited to post these and then forgot, so now I don't recall any of the details except the kraft card stock base and copics. I think the dp was Basic Grey, but not sure. The trousers are paper pieced and popped up but I don't think you can see that in the photos.

Crochet Flowers Meets MACM

My inspiration for today's cards comes from a combination of Kristina Werner's MACM and Nichole Heady's crochet flower pattern. These little flowers are easy to make and so stinkin' cute! I've been taking a little bag with me to all appointments and in the car in case I have a few moments to crochet. You'll be seeing more of these from me I'm sure.

Getting back in the groove here. DH and I spent some time with family at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia last week. It's just beautiful . . . I just love a view with mountains and water!

Anyway, here are a couple of cards I made with my aunt in mind. The first card using blue and red is my favorite of the two. I like the grungy look of it . . . seems to suit the image better, don't you think? Inside it says "Here's to another year down the can!" The dresses, flowers, flower pot and plunger head are paper pieced and popped up, but that doesn't show up very well in the pictures.

Flower Box Cards

Technique Tuesday has some of the cutest small stamp sets! I stamped some of the flowers from the "In Bloom" set and then decided to use the fence border punch from Martha Stewart to create a "flower box" from SU! kraft card stock. The striped dp is from October Afternoon (Ducks In A Row), and I pulled my flower and card stock colors from that. The yellow cs and ribbon is SU! Crushed Curry. The sentiments are from Verve and Hero Arts. Enjoy!

Anniversary Cards

I have several cards to make for September, so I'm getting a start on the anniversary ones. The socks stamp is from Lockhart. The "what a pair" is from Memory Box. The dp is from a large pad of My Mind's Eye that I picked up awhile back from Sam's or Costco. I used my Cuttlebug folder on the background and sanded it slightly. I paper pieced the socks with coordinating papers.

So It's Your Birthday

I am so excited to post these cards. I finally played a bit with Adobe Photoshop to edit my pictures, and I cannot believe the difference in my card photos. Normally, I just set the card up with a white background in a sunny window, take the picture and resize it without any editing. I've honestly thought the pictures were ok. My camera is a small purse size Canon Elph, and I really didn't expect the quality I see on other blogs where they have fabulous, expensive cameras and equipment. Anyway, tell me what you think . . . . can you see the difference. I need to edited and re-post an earlier card.

The image of the lady is from American Art Stamps and the sentiment Custer's Last Stamp. The dp is American Crafts, card stock Papertrey ink and coloring done with Copics (still learning, but determined).

I can't believe I finally finished these cards! Anytime I start from scratch with no sketch or idea, it takes me forevah! Anywho . . . I'm pleased with the result and hope you like these too. The flowers are die cuts from Spellbinders. I added a little white pen to some of the embossed areas. So-o-o-o . . . which version of the card do you like best?

TWO Cards

Sorry for the lack of posts. We had a couple of spring-like days, and that puts me in cleaning mode.
The first card uses Stampin' UP's The Essence of Love and My Mind's Eye designer paper. The second card uses the bonus set from Papertrey Ink, "Simple Little Things". I haven't seen any posts using this set yet, so decided to give it some ink. There are some great sentiments in this set in a nice font, too. A fabulous bonus and much appreciated. If anyone would like to see the set, I can take a picture of the illustrations.

Ok, I'm putting away the blues and orange and the Jersey Shore dp. Just indulge me one more day . . . The candles are from a Stampendous clear set and were so much fun to color with my Prismacolor pencils. The cupcake on the second card is a Michael's $1 stamp and I colored it with Spicas.

Children's Birthday Cards

I was inspired by Dawn's cards here and the colors in SU!'s Jersey Shore for some children's birthday cards I need. Card stock colors are brilliant blue, pumpkin pie, wild wasabi and bashful blue. I used an old Hero Arts stamp from a box of dots (guessing at the name) to create my own polka dot paper. It's funny how differently I "see" a card in the photo vs irl. The Happy 1st Birthday card now looks busy to me . . . what do you think . . . too much going on? And on the other card, the SU punched star looked too small, but now the Spellbinders star may be too large . . . it looks top heavy. hmmmmm
