Monogram Card

Just a quick post . . . I'm still so pumped over the UK win over North Carolina in the NCAA tournament this evening, I know I can't sleep yet.

Here is a card from a set I made for a friend. I used A Muse patterned paper and the leaves are die cut from a Stampin' UP! leaves die.

Thank you for your visit.

OLW46

I'm so happy I found some time to just play today! Susan's challenge this week "to use an egg or eggs on your one-layer card" got my mojo pumping. I pulled out this little used stamp from Magenta and colored it with Copics. Do you notice anything different in my coloring? I've been reading Marianne Walker's book "Shadows & Shading" and one of the things I've taken away from it is that there should be more contrast between the lightest and darkest areas of your image. So I tried to use a little more of the darkest and lightest
colors. I can see a difference, but I'm not sure the pictures pick it up. I added a little bling with my Spica clear glitter pen, and some "grass" with a few flicks of a Copic. I wish now I had masked the eggs and used a grass stamp, but oh well.

Thanks for the visit today.

PTI Make it Monday Challenge

Every week I plan to participate in the PTI Make it Monday Challenge, and every week I fail to get my act together and get it posted. But not this week!! I intended to do this on Monday actually, but ended up not using PTI . . . duh! I got so wrapped up in the card, I forgot the challenge. Anyway, this one qualifies and uses almost all PTI products. The inks are Memento . . . patiently waiting for PTI inks.

Thank you for the visit today. Hope you'll stop by often.

Colleen

Greetings From Paradise, Different Image

Where did this past week go? And March??!! It's just flyin' by.

I made a set of cards for my sale a couple of weeks ago and, while difficult to get a good picture, here is the best of the lot for seeing the detail. I stamped the shell in gold metallic ink and then gold embossed it, then layered it first on metallic gold paper and then black card stock before placing it all on a Cryogen White base. When I get my light box together, I'll see if I can't get a good picture of the rest of the set.

Thanks for the visit today.

Smooth Sailing

A quick post of a one layer card using new (to me) adorable Hambo Stamps stamped on Gina K Designs 120lb. heavyweight card stock and colored with Copics. Simple and fun!

Thanks for the visit.

What's Brewing?

This week has been a busy one! Today was a craft sale, and I've been making cards like a crazy lady. But it was a lot of fun, and I now have a little slush fund to recycle for new goodies =D

The cards I'm sharing tonight use a wonderful coffee cup outline image from Flourishes and sentiment from Impression Obsession. The background is one of my favorites from Hero Arts. I love paper piecing and that coffee cup just begged for something imitating fine china . Cosmo Cricket delivered, and I added a little shading to create depth. It all came together quickly. I have the visual triangle thingy going on, and it just feels good.  I see more paper piecing in my future. Question: Does paper piecing disqualify it from being a one-layer card? Inquiring minds want to know.

Many thanks for the visit today. Much appreciated.

Hugs,
Colleen
