Thank You Birdie

I'm in a stamping slump it seems. I've been creating some cards, but most of what I've made has gone in the round file . . . definitely not blog worthy. Here' s a card I sent to a friend. Very basic but better than nothin'. SU card stock, Bird and Swirls from Rhonna, Bird colored with Prismacolors, sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I got some new toys today that may jog my mojo . . . here's hopin'. Thank you for stopping by.

With Gratitude

Here is a thank you card going out to Amy Westerman for the goodies she sent me for winning her business card contest. I used some of the beautiful paper from the DCWV Rockstar stack and scraps from BG Mellow. The image and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink. I used SU Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip inks with the center being Brilliance Poppy. I layered the bloom and one leaf and added some sparkle to the center. The ribbon is SU Cranberry Crisp from last year's mini. Thank you for stopping by.

My Happy Place

I'm posting a few pictures of the stamping area of my craft room. I always enjoy seeing where other people work and thought you might like this.
There is a table behind the stamp area that I bought from Walmart awhile back. It's a good size, and I have 3 stacks of 19 drawers (57) that hold most of my rubber stamps just in front of the table and easily accessible. I really work best with things in sight and at my fingertips. On the back of the door hangs two clear over the door shoe storage bags that I use for punches. If there's any interest, I'll show you my ribbon storage . . .
PS. My room is seldom this straight. In fact, I took these pictures so I could remember what it's suppose to look like : )

Mellow Changito

I used my Basic Grey Mellow for this thank you note . . . even for the leaves (QuicKutz). Changito, sentiment and bananas are from Stampendous. The vine is some twine I knew I'd use one of these days. Changito and leaves colored with Prismacolor pencils. I really must start taking these pictures in daylight or fix a light box. Sorry for the shadow. Thanks for stopping by.

Splendiferous Day

I love this Rhonna clear stamp I picked up at Archiver's Hot Spot a while back. I colored the image with my Copics, added a Hero Arts dragonfly and pierced a trail. I stamped the sentiment (Amuse) and then matted all that on black and placed it on a background of SU More Mustard stamped with a Stamp in the Hand triangle shaped stamp. Added ribbon and it was done.

Imaginisce Anniversary

Not my best effort, but here it is . . . In retrospect, I should make the matted image smaller. The dp is from Imaginisce. The dots are the reverse of the striped paper. Pears are SU and the sentiment from Hampton Arts Clear Expressions. Thanks for stopping by.

Anniversary Wishes

Yup, two cards in one night. I'm on a roll . . . It's the Basic Grey "Mellow" line. . . . awesome. See previous post.

I got the idea for this card from one on display at the Morningstar booth in Cincinnati while at Stampaway in August. So, the "anniversary" and "WISHES" stamps are from Morningstar and the flower is from Hero Arts. The paper is Basic Grey's "Mellow" matted with black. There are two wide satin ribbons (Offray) in brown and green tied together. The flower was colored with my neglected SU markers and the center just a dot of white gel pen. Now I need to make some anniversary cards . . .

True Confessions

Ok, it's confession time . . . I have two confessions. One, as hard as this may be to believe, I am not a HUGE fan of Basic Grey papers. I have a bunch of them but don't use them. And it's not because I hoard paper (which I do), but because they just don't speak to me, kwim? This was true until I saw their recent "Mellow" line. I love, LOVE this paper. Now, confession #2 . . . I also hoard cards I make, and I like the card I made tonight so much I probably won't send it to the couple I made it for because I can't bear to part with it. So, I started tonight needing to make an anniversary card to send and I still do . . .

The card is pretty self explanatory . . . The pears are a SU stamp stamped twice, masked and the oval stamped. The pears were colored with my Prismacolor pencils and blender pencil. (I think I'm really getting the hang of this.) I added touches of glitter with my gold Copic Spica pen. The sentiment is a clear Hampton Arts stamp. I matted the image piece on Bazzill dark brown and edged it lightly with gold leaf pen for added dimension and then placed it on the 2 pieces (background and strip) of "Mellow" after adding the ribbon and piercing. The inside reads "to the Perfect "Pair". I may have another card tonight, because I doubt I'll have time to post tomorrow. It's another card I don't think will see postage anytime soon . . . Did I mention I love Basic Grey's "Mellow" line?

Magenta Meets Cuttlebug

This Magenta stamp is one I use frequently for baby cards, but it's the first time I've layered it on this Cuttlebugged background and I'm happy with the result. I colored the stroller with my SU markers adding Ranger Glossy Accents to the pink hearts. I matted the stroller image on black and placed the ribbon around the background before gluing that to a vanilla card and adding the matted image which I raised on pop dots. The background is SU mellow moss. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Stampin' UP! Best of Cluck Thanks

I bought this now retired SU set just for this stamp of the chicks . . . it's one of my all time SU favorites! I stamped the weathered background stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms in chocolate chip on kraft cardstock and stamped the chicks in chocolate chip on very vanilla and colored them with my Prismacolor pencils, adding some shading around the perimeter of the image and some "dirt" under the chicks. I matted the chicks over the gingham ribbon and then on to chocolate chip, added that to the card, tied the ribbon and then stamped the chicken tracks. Note: I usually create card "fronts" and then mount those to light colored cardstock so the sentiment can be stamped directly on the inside and to hide any ribbon or brads, etc. I prefer the inside not have anything showing, unless it's ribbon in the fold of the card.

Poppies for a Friend

I made this card using stamps by Stampendous (poppies) and Penny Black (sentiment). I colored the poppies with my Prismacolor markers and added black glaze pen to the blooms. The ribbon is from American Craft, but I added a black line to it with a Sharpie . . . it just needed that with all the black in the card. The ribbon was actually my inspiration for the other colors of the card. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet!

All SU stamps. Ranger's Glossy Accents was used to create the shiny finish on the sundae cup, hot fudge and cherry. White applique provided the "whipped cream", Doodlebug Frills for the white trim. The background is SU's Paisley stamped in chocolate chip on chocolate chip. Thanks for stopping by!
