Papertrey Ink January 2012 Blog Hop!

I am thrilled to join Papertrey Ink in their first 2012 Blog Hop! It's a step in the right direction for me as I resolve (again) to participate in more challenges.

The directive from Nichole:  This month, in honor of the New Year, we are challenging you to pick your favorite project from 2011 and share it with all of us. To take it a step further, you are challenged to create a second card that is inspired by the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets.

So here is my inspiration card from 2011:
And the new card.....

Using almost exclusively Papertrey Ink products (minus the heart punch), I opted to use the Take Three die to mimic the squares from the inspiration card and make a Valentine.

Have a great day, all, and thank you for stopping by.

  1. I love both cards, love the layers on your original and the punch out on the second.

  2. Two great cards! Love the clean and simple style, colors and patterns of your new variation.

  3. I'm not sure which I like the best. Both are very pretty!

  4. Love the patchwork feel of your first card. I never would have thought to use the hearts in the openings from the Take Three die. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

  5. Your first card from 2011 is awesome! I love that it looks like a quilt. Your new card is great, too :) I've been seeing a lot of use from others with the take 3 die, lately, and now I'm really wanting it!

  6. Both cards are way to cute! Love the take three card too with the hearts. CAS love it!

  7. Lovin ur valentine card. The 3 apertures look gr8 with the hearts popped behind.

  8. Wow! I love both cards. Your use of squares on the first one is lovely and the cut-out windows on the second one is a great idea.

  9. I love the simplicity of the die cuts with the hearts peeking through. the inspiration card is one I think I recall from previous posts-Both are just beautiful!

Thank you for taking time to comment . . . it feeds my mojo!
