World Card Making Day 2012; Challenge 1, Holiday Greetings
I'm thrilled to finally get some play time in my "rubber room" and participate in World Card Making Day! It seems like forever since I made a card.
In honor of WCMD, "The Classroom" is hosting a day of challenges from some awesome designers with a prize of a $150 gift card to Ellen Hutson's store up for grabs.
The first challenge was to "create a holiday greeting", and since Julie used a collage of holiday sentiments on her sample card, I took the "greeting" part of the challenge literally. Starting with a Tim Holtz alterations folder, I created an embossed greeting layer and colored with a real red marker from Stampin' UP! a couple of the words for emphasis. Then I die cut a poinsettia using Spellbinder's dies, adding some gold bling to the center. A scrap of ribbon for leaves and a cherry cobbler card base and done! Whew! Boy am I rusty! But it definitely feels good to get inky.
Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs.

ReplyDeleteWow, this is gorgeous, Colleen! Good to see you crafting again. I've missed you.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card gf! I am amazed at how beautifully you colored those words! The letters look like they were die cut and attached. Just wonderful!
